SENIOR RESIDENT ENGINEER - BUILDINGS/INFRASTRUCTURE - WEXFORD

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a leading civil & structural engineering consultancy.

Report directly to the client and others where directed by the client

Liaison between /Contractor and Client, and all relevant stakeholders

Review and assess of Contractor claims and writing reports on same.

In collaboration with the other members of the Project Team, assist
the ER in administering the terms of the Works contract during
operations on site and relating to the completion of the Works
including (but not limited to) all activities in connection with the
adjudication of disputes between the Employer and the Contractor.

Review and report on Contractor payment applications against work
completed.

Monitoring progress on site relative to Construction programme.

Ensure compliance with the conditions as set out in the relevant
licenses for the works.

Assessment of all relevant Contractor submissions including method
statements

Liaise with Technical Advisors for response for Contractor design
submissions against Employers’ requirements.

Monitor quality of the works, keeping records, measuring, managing
correspondence, and contractual documentation.

Ensure works are carried out in accordance with all the technical
requirements of the brief

Checking that all Traffic Management Plans and phasing of Construction
Works, are as agreed with client and relevant stake holders 

REQUIREMENTS

Hold a degree in Engineering or an equivalent professional
qualification in Engineering.

Have obtained the title of Chartered

Have a satisfactory knowledge of civil engineering works, building
construction, and project management.

Have a satisfactory knowledge of Public Works construction contracts.

Good Project Management Experience

5 years relevant experience in construction supervision or design and
construction supervision of buildings/ large yard slabs/
roads and drainage related schemes.

role should be a chartered engineer

Monitor the Contractor’s compliance with Health & Safety plans and
regulations;

Monitor compliance with the conditions as set out in the planning
permission for the works;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Experience in record keeping and reporting on Contractor’s progress.

Experience in site administration.

Ability to work independently and under own initiative to achieve
project goals.

Knowledge of current H&S regulations and best practices.

Full driving licence, access to a car and a valid SafePass.

Attention to detail and ability to comply with Quality Assurance
Management Systems is essential

Proficient in Microsoft Office packages such as Excel and Word
